GUIDE · SOFA DISASSEMBLY COSTWhat goes into the price.
There's no single price for taking a sofa apart, because no two sofas or New York buildings are the same. Here's what shapes a quote, so you know what to send for an accurate one.
The piece itself
A standard three-seat sofa is a different job from a four-piece sectional, a sleeper sofa with a heavy bed mechanism or a power recliner. How the sofa is built matters too: arms that bolt on come off quickly, while arms that are stapled and glued into the frame take more careful work.
The route
Every flight of stairs, tight turn and small elevator adds time and care. A ground-floor apartment with a wide hall is quicker than a fifth-floor walk-up with a turning stairwell.
Your building
Some buildings only allow furniture work at set hours, need a freight elevator booked or ask for a certificate of insurance. Those requirements shape the timing of the job.
Timing
A job planned around a delivery date is different from an urgent call while the delivery team waits downstairs. Tell us your timing and we'll tell you what's possible.
Extra work
Reassembly in your room is part of our sofa fitting service. Other work, such as moving the sofa between homes, removing an old couch or repairing damage found along the way, is quoted with the job.
How to get an accurate quote
Send photos of the whole sofa from the front, side and back, its dimensions, the brand if you know it, and photos of the tight spot. Add your ZIP code, the floor, stairs or elevator details and your preferred date. Quotes are free, and we confirm the price before any work starts.
