Manual recliners
Manual recliners rely on a release handle, a cable and a metal mechanism under the seat. A stretched or broken cable, a loose bolt or a bent part can stop the footrest moving or leave it stuck halfway.
Power recliners
Before calling, check that the outlet works and that the power supply and cables underneath are firmly connected. If the seat still won't move, the fault may be in the switch, the motor or the mechanism itself. A short video of the problem helps us diagnose it.

Not always. Loose connections and failed switches or power supplies are common. Send a video and the brand and model so we can narrow it down.
03Can a recliner be taken apart to get it through a door?+
Often, yes. Many recliners have backs that lift off, and reclining sofas can be separated. Our sofa disassembly service covers it.
