SAGGING COUCH & SPRING REPAIR · NYCSit up straight again.
A couch that sags doesn't have to be replaced. Most sinking seats come down to worn cushions, tired springs or a weak deck, and each of those can be put right.

Why couches sag
Sagging usually starts in one of three places. Cushion foam and filling compress over the years and stop holding their shape. The springs underneath, often zigzag springs held by metal clips, can stretch, slip from their clips or snap. And on some sofas the webbing or the rail that supports the springs gives way.
How we fix it
We lift the cushions, look at the deck, the springs and the clips, and check underneath through the dust cover. Depending on what we find, the repair might mean refastening or replacing springs and clips, replacing worn webbing, reinforcing the seat deck or refreshing the cushions.
If the sag comes from a cracked rail or a broken frame joint, that's a frame repair, and we'll tell you before going further.
A little
clarity.
01Is it the cushions or the springs?+
Take the cushions off and press on the deck. If it feels firm and even, the cushions are the likely cause. If it dips or you can feel loose springs, the support underneath needs attention.
02Can you fix just one sagging seat?+
Yes. Repairs are often limited to the section that has failed.
03Can you refresh worn cushions?+
Send photos of the cushions and tell us how they've changed, and we'll talk through the options for your piece.
04What should I send for a quote?+
A photo of the whole sofa, a close-up of the sagging seat with the cushion removed, and the brand or age if you know it.
